Martín Veiga is a Galician poet, translator and senior lecturer in Hispanic Studies at University College Cork, where he is also the director of the Irish Centre for Galician Studies. He has published six award-winning poetry collections in Galician, including Diario de Crosses Green (2016) and a ganancia e a perda (2020), and the bilingual anthology Jewels in the Mud: Selected Poems 1990-2020 (2020). In 2023 he published the first Galician translation of T. S. Eliot’s Four Quartets. His main research areas are contemporary Galician and Irish poetry, literary translation, ecocriticism, and travel writing and mobility narratives in the Iberian context.
