Billy O’Callaghan is the author of four short story collections and four novels, including ‘My Coney Island Baby’, ‘The Boatman and Other Stories’ and ‘Life Sentences’. Winner of the Irish Book Award and shortlisted for the COSTA Short Story Award and the Royal Society of Literature’s Encore Award among other honours, his books have been translated into fourteen languages and recent short stories have appeared in such journals as Agni, Fiction, the Kenyon Review, the Massachusetts Review, New Letters, Ploughshares, South Carolina Review, the Stinging Fly, the Threepenny Review and Winter Papers. His latest novel, ‘The Paper Man’, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2023.
