Irish children’s author Shane Hegarty has written bestselling series ‘Darkmouth’, ‘Boot’ and the recent ‘The Shop of Impossible Ice Creams’. He has been nominated for several awards, including the An Post Children’s Book of the Year, Waterstone’s Prize and Sainsbury’s Prize. ‘Boot’ was the UNESCO Dublin City of Literature Citywide Read in 2020. He lives in Skerries, Co Dublin with his family but no pets since an unfortunate incident with the goldfish.
