Eibhlís Carcione is a children’s author and teacher. She is also a bilingual poet who writes poems in Irish and English. She has published three poetry books in Irish and has won many prestigious prizes. She has written hundreds of poems, often about the power of nature, mermaids, myths, magic, and the occasional ghost. When she isn’t reading or writing she can be found in the darkest forest or along the crashing seashore, dreaming up her next story. She loves old bookstores and flea markets.
Her bookshelves are heaving with her collections of fairy tales, and she likes to read at least one a day. She lives in Cork city with her husband, daughter, and two faithful canine companions. Welcome to Dead Town, Raven McKay is her debut children’s novel. It will be published by Everything with Words on the 1st of June 2023.
