Born near Cologne and schooled in Münster, Germany, Blue has an MA in Cultural Science with a focus on Literature, Fine Arts, Education and Arts Administration from the University of Hildesheim. Her thesis compares a selection of own poetry with Expressionist poetry (1910-1920), particularly that of August Stramm (1874-1915). During her study years, Blue began performing her poetry and co-organized various literary events with the LiteraturBüro Hildesheim and the Literature Initiative KONTEXT.

Blue followed the vibrant literary life in Ireland, coming to Cork in 2000 for work-experience with the Munster Literature Centre and forging connections with the Irish literature scene. Five years later, she made Cork her family home, working at the Triskel Arts Centre from 2011-14.

Blue’s poetic home in Cork are the Ó Bhéal open mike nights in the Hayloft. Presenting poetry in a visual embodiment, she is known for her captivating performance. Blue has performed in many Cork venues including the Spáilpín Fánach, Cork City Library, Tígh Filí, Gulpd Café (Triskel), Camden Palace and UCC. She participates in events like Culture Night, International Women‘s Day and World Book Day, and has competed in the Munster Heat All Ireland Poetry Slams. Beyond Cork, she has performed in venues in Limerick, Galway and West Cork, and at festivals like the Future Forest, Irish Green Gathering, Dream Gathering, Electric Picnic and Dublin’s LINGO Spoken Word Festival. Blue was longlisted for the Words on the Waves Award 2015 and the Fish Poetry Prize 2016 and 2021. Her poems have appeared in Southword, Cork, Revival Poetry and Stanzas as well as Solstice Sounds, Limerick, in Crannóg, Galway, in Five Words Volumes published by Ó Bhéal, and in A New Ulster. Five of her poems are published on the Poethead website. She has been anthologized in An Gob Saor (2000), On the Banks (2016), A Journey called Home (2018), and Cork Words 2 (2021). Blue has published some poetry in literary magazines and anthologies in Germany. Her first collection “In the Consciousness of Earth” was brought out by Lapwing, Belfast in 2012. In 2015 her translations of August Stramm’s love poetry “You. Lovepoems & Posthumous Love Poems. A Centenary Commemoration” was published by the University and State Library (ULB) Münster.
