Neo Florence Gilson from Kimberley South Africa, currently living in Ireland. She is a poet, singer, writer, storyteller, and motivational speaker. She has released a gospel audio CD titled “Behind the Veil ” in May 2014. Neo has worked on various youth development projects in South Africa. She has studied Business Administration, practiced as a Pharmacist Technician, and completed creative writing courses.

Neo’s poems have appeared online, on radio, DSAC Writers festival, Window to my World: Poetry, Resistance and Justice curated for World Poetry Day, Trinity Long Room Hub Arts and Humanities, featured on Fishamble New play Company “Writing for performance workshops” and featured on the Outlandish Theatre production Love and Charity.

Neo sang a cover of the legendary Miriam Makeba for Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation- Entanglements – Africa and Dublin City which was an online exhibition for Young Artists Competition celebrating #AfricaDay2021.

Neo participated in the Bodies and Ruins Symposium as part of the Outlandish Theatre at Smock Alley Theatre. Participated at the Dublin International Book Festival, in collaboration with Stingy fly and Playitfoward. Participated in the Women on Women project an engaging program of cultural provocations, engaging women across very diverse European territories and virtual collaborations between Ireland, Macedonia, Greece, Slovenia, Zagreb, Skopje. In February 2022, participated in a Poetic Roundtable discussion chaired by Prof. Philip Coleman from the School of English at Dublin University college /Trinity University college and Trinity Long Room Hub and Trinity College School of Humanities.
