Cate Kennedy is an Australian author who writes fiction, poetry and non-fiction and has for years been in love with the short story form. Her work has been published in Australia, the United Kingdom, the U.S.A., China and France and she has won several prizes for her stories and poems.

She received the Vincent Buckley Prize for her first poetry collection “Signs of Other Fires”, which allowed her to travel to Ireland in 2002 and find inspiration for her second collection “Joyflight”, a book which deals with legacy, memory and storytelling – recurrent themes in all her subsequent work. She lives in country Victoria in Australia and is still, as ever, trying to finish a new novel.
