Luz Pichel is a Galician poet and professor of literature and language in Madrid.  In 2004 she won the prestigious international poetry prize ‘Premio Internacional de Poesía Ramón Jiménez’ and in 2006 won the ‘Premio Esquío’ for Galician poetry for the collection ‘Casa Pechada.’  From 2002 to 2009 she was professor of poetry at the Centre for Poetry Studies in the Universidad Popular Jose Hierro.  Collections include: El pájaro mudo (1990), La marca de los potros (2004), Casa Pechada (2006), Cativa en su lughar (2013), Tra(n)shumancias (2015) and CO CO CO U (2017).  Since 2012 she has been director of the poetry seminar Euraca.
